What 볬 means

A word gives its meaning. Jamo are Hangul letters: Unicode expands 볬 to ᄇ + ᅨ + ᆻ; a Korean input method (IME) enters the equivalent ㅂ + ㅖ + ㅆ. 볬 alone does not convey a complete message.

Why was Hangul made?

To make Korean easier to write and learn. Hangul’s creation under King Sejong is recorded in 1443.

The 1446 text 훈민정음 해례 explains Hangul’s letters. Hangul was used alongside Hanja, Chinese characters used in Korean writing, and became the main Korean script by the modern period.
