hangul syllable byuh

Hangul syllable 븋

To type 븋, switch to Korean input and enter ㅂ, then ㅠ, then ㅎ. A Korean input method editor (IME) joins them into one Hangul syllable block. Its parts give it a sound structure, not a pictorial message.

What 븋 means

Switch to Korean input and enter ㅂ, then ㅠ, then ㅎ.

The input method editor (IME) joins those Hangul letters into one block. On Windows, Microsoft's Korean IME automatically arranges typed letters into blocks and places ㅠ on the B key (2024-06-20).

With a Latin input mode active, those keystrokes produce Latin letters instead; switch the keyboard's input language to Korean.

What does 븋 mean on its own?

It is a Hangul syllable block, not a pictorial reaction.

The Korean input sequence is ㅂ (initial consonant), ㅠ (vowel), and ㅎ (final consonant). These letters give the block a sound structure; they do not make a full word just by being put together.

As of 2026, 븋 has no established standalone chat meaning. Read it as Korean text unless the surrounding conversation makes its role clear.

Why does 븋 look different in another font?

A font changes the drawing, not the character.

븋 stacks ㅂ above the horizontal vowel ㅠ and places final ㅎ below them. Fonts can change the strokes, spacing, and proportions while keeping the same block.

Hangul can also be represented with conjoining jamo, separate letters that join into syllable blocks; this lets text represent older syllables that have no precomposed block. Unicode normalization can switch 븋 between its precomposed form and an equivalent letter sequence without changing the text it represents.

Neutral as Korean writing; the block itself does not set a social tone.

Is 븋 an emoji? No. Read it as Hangul text unless the sender's message gives it another role.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 븋 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
