What 첚 means
첚 is one Korean syllable block made from three Hangul jamo. Jamo are the consonant and vowel letters that Hangul combines: ㅊ opens the block, ㅓ is its vowel, and ㄲ closes it. This exact block has no established everyday word meaning on its own as of 2026-09-13. The Joseon court devised Hangul to write Korean speech more directly; its principles were announced in 1443 and explained in the 1446 guidebook Hunminjeongeum. Before Hangul, Korea's written tradition also used Classical Chinese, a different written language.
