What 츰 means
Alone, 츰 is a syllable, not a complete word. The whole word 차츰 means “gradually” or “little by little.”
Hangul was designed under King Sejong to make Korean easier to write than with Chinese characters. The royal chronicle Sejong Sillok records it in 1443; the explanatory book Hunminjeongeum followed in 1446.
