What 똬 means
The full Korean word supplies its meaning.
똬리 names a padded head ring for carrying a load; it also means a coil, such as a snake curled in a loop.
Hangul, the Korean alphabet, was created in 1443 and explained in 1446 to make Korean easier to write. Older systems such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal adapted Chinese characters for Korean.
Don't confuse it with
1또아리
For the head-ring word, use 똬리; 또아리 is a different word for a gathered rake end or the binding around it.
Questions people ask
1Why does 똬 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
