What 딫 means
It has no fixed word meaning by itself.
The block joins ㄷ (first consonant), ㅣ (vowel), and ㅊ (final consonant).
Hangul was devised to write Korean speech more directly than Chinese characters alone. Its creation is recorded in 1443; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum manuscript explains the system. Early Hangul texts also mixed in Hanja, Chinese characters used in Korean writing.

Questions people ask
1Why does 딫 look or sound different?
Both font and speech context matter. Fonts may shift the parts; at a pause, final ㅊ ends as a short t sound without release, but before a vowel it links into the next syllable.
