What 뒖 means
Its Korean word tells you how the syllable functions.
Its Hangul jamo (letters) are ᄃ, ᅰ and ᆵ. Fonts may draw the parts differently without changing the character.
Why was Hangul created, and what changed?
To make Korean easier to write and learn.
Before Hangul, Idu, Gugyeol and Hyangchal were systems for adapting Chinese characters to write Korean. The earliest record dates to 1443; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum Haerye guide explains the letters' sounds. Letters, labels, songs and books spread Hangul, which became Korea's native alphabet. During the Joseon period, some elites dismissed it, though people across ranks used it. It became Korea's official writing system in 1894, then lost that status under Japanese rule in 1910.

Questions people ask
1Why does 뒖 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
