What 댾 means
It is built from an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final cluster. Hangul puts individual consonant and vowel letters, called jamo, into square syllable blocks. Here those parts are ᄃ, ᅤ, and ᆭ, respectively.
The Unicode name “dyaenh” is assembled from those jamo labels; it is not a Korean word or translation.
Why was Hangul created?
To make written Korean easier to learn and use.
Before Hangul, methods including Hyangchal, Idu, and Gugyeol adapted Chinese characters for Korean sounds, words, or grammar. King Sejong introduced Hangul in 1443 as Hunminjeongeum; a book of the same title explained its purpose and design in 1446. It became Korea’s official national writing system in 1894, then lost that status under Japanese rule in 1910.

Questions people ask
1Why does 댾 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
