hangul syllable dyalg

Hangul syllable dyalg

On its own, 댥 has no established Korean word or chat meaning as of Sep 2026. Inside a word, it spells one Hangul syllable built from ㄷ, ㅑ, and final ㄺ; a Korean IME can assemble its component letters. Its history is Hangul's, not a separate story about this block.

What 댥 means

As of Sep 2026, 댥 has no standalone word or chat meaning.

Sent alone, it is best read as an incomplete syllable: ask what word was intended rather than inventing a message. In a Korean word, the block contributes its written syllable; its role comes from that word.

How did this block come to exist?

It follows Hangul's regular syllable-building system.

Hangul's development was completed in 1443, and the Hunminjeongeum manuscript explained its purpose and principles in 1446. Before Hangul, Korean was also written through systems such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal, which adapted Chinese characters to Korean words or grammar. Hangul provided a more direct way to write Korean and support reading and learning.

Early printed works included Buddhist scriptures; later, Confucian texts were translated into Hangul. The final cluster ㄺ also appears in ordinary spellings such as 닭 (chicken), 흙 (soil), 맑다 (be clear), and 늙지 (does not age). Its pronunciation can change with the word form and what follows; these words do not give 댥 a meaning of its own.

How do I type 댥?

Type ㄷ, ㅑ, ㄹ, then ㄱ in a Korean IME.

The Jamo behind 댥—Hangul's component letters—are ᄃ + ᅣ + ᆰ: an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant cluster. A Korean IME can compose the familiar keyboard entries ㄷ, ㅑ, ㄹ, ㄱ into the block. Unicode normalization may keep the precomposed syllable or expose its component Jamo.

If the result looks different, the font may be shaping the block differently: Hangul fonts can vary the placement, shape, and size of its components.

Neutral as a written syllable: it contributes Korean sound structure rather than a reaction or tone.

Alone in a message, ask which word was intended; do not infer a hidden message.
