What 딌 means
Use Korean 2-set input; enter four jamo in order.
The Korean 2-set layout uses a QWERTY keyboard, with consonant keys on the left and vowel keys on the right. Press e, m, l, and Shift+t to enter ㄷ, ㅡ, ㅣ, and ㅆ. These jamo (Hangul consonant and vowel letters) combine as ᄃ ᅴ ᆻ; ㅡ ㅣ form the vowel ㅢ. Without Korean input enabled, the same keys produce Latin letters.
The IME composes a syllable as you type, so the intermediate display can change before the complete block appears.
What does 딌 mean?
딌 is a Hangul syllable, not a complete word.
The Hangul letters in 딌 are initial consonant ᄃ, vowel ᅴ, and final consonant ᆻ. A Korean word supplies the meaning; this syllable represents one spoken unit within that word.
Hangul was designed under King Sejong to fit Korean speech and make writing easier to learn. A royal record dates the creation of 28 letters to 1443; the Hunminjeongeum, a book explaining the alphabet and how its letters form syllables, was completed in 1446. Its system places consonants and vowels together in syllable units, which is why 딌 appears as one block.
