What 게 means
Its role in the sentence decides its reading. In Korean, 게 is the noun for “crab”; in 내게 (“to me”), 네게 (“to you”), and 제게 (“to me,” in a modest form), it shortens 에게; after another word, -게 is a grammatical ending whose exact meaning depends on the construction.
Hangul, the Korean writing system, was designed to represent Korean speech and broaden access to writing. It was announced in 1443, and a book explaining the script appeared in 1446.
In the command 읽어 보게, -게 is familiar; use a polite ending for a request to someone you would address politely.
