What 껫 means
Alone, 껫 has no fixed meaning; it is a complete Hangul syllable block.
Hangul, the Korean writing system, was devised in 1443 to make Korean easier to read and write. A book published in 1446 explained how the new script worked; Hangul became an official script in Korea in 1894. 껫 is assembled from smaller Hangul letters, not invented as a separate sign.
껫 appears in 푸껫, the Korean spelling of Phuket. Korean rules for transcribing Thai names from 2004 prescribe this spelling rather than 푸켓. A 2025 listing of regional Korean words records 껫-돌 as a term for a small pebble in South Gyeongsang and South Jeolla.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
