What 꽖 means
It writes one Korean syllable. Hangul’s consonant and vowel letters, called jamo, fit together inside square syllable blocks. Here, ᄁ is the opening consonant, ᅪ the vowel, and ᆵ the final consonant cluster. Unicode’s standard split form is 꽈 ᆵ.
How did Hangul develop?
It was designed as an easy-to-learn way to write Korean. King Sejong, a Korean ruler, created Hangul in 1443. The 1446 book Hunminjeongeum, also the script’s original name, explained its purpose and principles. Earlier Korean writing relied on Chinese characters and Korean adaptations of them. Hangul also appeared in Buddhist scriptures and books on Confucian teaching, practical texts, personal letters and everyday labels; Chinese characters remained dominant in official records until Hangul became Korea’s official writing system in 1894.

1Why does 꽖 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
