What 곈 means
Hangul groups each syllable’s sounds into one block. In 곈, ㄱ starts the block, ㅖ is its vowel, and ㄴ closes it.
Hangul was designed for Korean speech, which Chinese characters did not represent easily. The first record is titled Hunminjeongeum and dates to 1443; an explanatory book appeared in 1446.
