What 귮 means
This Korean syllable block takes its role from the word around it.
It combines ㄱ (opening consonant), ㅠ (vowel), and ㅄ (final consonant cluster). Hangul groups consonants and vowels into syllables for writing Korean.
Hangul was made for writing Korean speech. Its earliest documented record dates to 1443; the explanatory manuscript Hunminjeongeum (a guide to the writing system) followed in 1446.
Why does 귮 look different in different fonts?
Fonts change the block's layout, not the syllable.
Hangul fonts can vary the shapes, size, and placement of a block's component letters.
Unicode can encode the same text in two normalized forms: NFC keeps 귮 as one block; NFD decomposes it into component letters. The encoding changes, not the intended reading.
