What 흗 means
Its meaning comes from the surrounding Korean word or name.
A 1632 Dusi Eonhae text, a Korean translation and commentary on poems by the Chinese poet Du Fu, contains 흗 in 흗ᄃᆞᆯ. A scholarly note traces 흩다 (“to scatter”) through 흩- 흗- 흣-: older eight-final and later seven-final rules changed which consonants could end a syllable.
In 2023, HD Hyundai named its YouTube channel Studio 흗, using the Korean consonants ㅎ and ㄷ for H and D.
Historical spelling; the brand use is deliberate wordplay.
