What 휖 means
It represents a Korean syllable; by itself, it is a fragment.
휖 groups three parts: ㅎ starts the syllable, ㅞ is its vowel, and ㅍ ends it. The surrounding Korean word provides its lexical meaning.
Hangul was devised so Korean speakers could write their language. The royal chronicle Sejong Sillok records in 1443 that King Sejong created Hunminjeongeum, the script’s original name. A 1446 book with that name explained Hangul’s purpose and how initial, middle, and final sounds combine into syllables. Those dates belong to the writing system, not a separate origin date for 휖.
How do I type 휖 on a Korean keyboard?
On a Korean two-set keyboard, press g, n, p, v in order.
In Korean input mode, those keys enter ㅎ, ㅜ, ㅔ, ㅍ. The input method combines ㅜ and ㅔ into ㅞ, then forms 휖.
Why does 휖 look different across fonts?
Fonts can change its components’ shape, size, and placement.
Unicode 17.0.0 allows those font differences inside Hangul blocks; the character remains 휖.

휖\D716Why is 휖 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
Codes and encoding1 code points
