What 혨 means
It is one syllable block, not a complete message.
Its Unicode decomposition is ᄒ ᅨ ᆳ. These are jamo, or Hangul letters: a starting consonant, a vowel and a final consonant cluster. Unicode can store the same syllable as one precomposed block or as those separate letters, which text tools may handle differently.
Hangul was made to write Korean directly
King Sejong's court created Hangul in Joseon Korea in 1443 to give people a direct way to write Korean speech. Before it, Korean writing relied on Chinese characters and adaptations of them. A 1446 guide called Hunminjeongeum (“Correct Sounds for Instructing the People”) explained the alphabet's design. The script was also called eonmun (“vernacular writing”); after the Gabo Reform, a Korean government reform in 1894, gukmun or gukseo (“national writing”) became common. The name Hangeul appears in records in the early 1910s, though its start is disputed, and was widely used by 1928.
