What 쩘 means
It is a Korean syllable block, not a word translation.
It combines ㅉ, ㅓ and ㄽ: an opening consonant, a vowel and a final consonant cluster. Unicode’s name “Jjeols” labels this construction, not a dictionary translation. The surrounding Korean text gives it word-level context.
Hangul is recorded in Hunminjeongeum in 1443; a 1446 book explains the alphabet’s principles. It was designed to make Korean easier to write than with borrowed Chinese characters. These dates concern Hangul’s history, not the first appearance of this particular block.

1Why does 쩘 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
