What 쿁 means
Hangul arranges the consonant and vowel of a Korean syllable together in a compact block, with a final consonant when present. That layout lets each written block stand for one syllable within a word.
Hangul took shape in King Sejong’s court
King Sejong’s court developed Hangul to make Korean easier to write than it was with Chinese characters. The alphabet was created in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, the guide explaining the system, appeared in 1446.
In Korean texts from before 1933, Jamo can appear in sequences rather than in composed syllable blocks.
