What 쿩 means

It is one Korean syllable; its word supplies the meaning.

The meaning of 쿩 depends on the Korean word or name containing it. Unicode decomposes the block into ᄏ (initial consonant), ᅮ (vowel), and ᆰ (final consonant cluster); Korean input uses the corresponding standalone forms ㅋ, ㅜ, and ㄺ.

Hangul was devised under King Sejong to write Korean more directly. Earlier systems such as Idu, hyangchal, and gugyeol adapted Chinese characters to Korean speech and grammar. The letters were created in December 1443; 훈민정음, a guide explaining the new letters, appeared in 1446.

Why does 쿩 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
