What 몰 means
The word around it decides. In 몰표, 몰- gives the sense of votes converging on one candidate. 몰입 is a Korean word built from the Chinese-character elements 沒入 and means deep immersion. In 쇼핑몰, 몰 is the Korean spelling of the English loanword “mall.”
How is 몰 formed?
It is one Hangul block assembled from three letters. Hangul was devised in 1443 to make Korean easier to write and teach; the 1446 guide Hunminjeongeum explained the script. Chinese characters remained dominant in official documents until 1894. A Korean input method joins ㅁ ㅗ ㄹ into 몰; Unicode also represents it as one precomposed syllable.

Questions people ask
1Why does 몰 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
