hangul syllable nweolp

Hangul Syllable Nweolp

Alone, 눮 is best read as a sample of Korean text rather than a pictorial reaction; any word meaning comes from its context. It combines a leading consonant, vowel, and final cluster into one Hangul block. Fonts may draw its strokes differently without changing the character.

What 눮 means

It is one Hangul syllable block, not a picture or emoji.

It is assembled from ㄴ at the start, ㅝ as the vowel, and ㄿ at the end. These component letters form one written syllable; any lexical meaning belongs to a Korean word or phrase containing it, not to a standalone emoji reading.

Hangul was devised under King Sejong in 1443. Before it, Korean writers adapted Chinese characters through methods called Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal; Hangul offered a direct way to write Korean. The 1446 guide Hunminjeongeum explained the new script's principles. In Hangul's early years, Buddhist scriptures were among the works printed in it, and Hangul became Korea's official script in 1894.

How do I type 눮?

On a two-set Korean keyboard, press s, n, j, f, then v.

On Dubeolsik, the two-set Korean keyboard, those keys enter ㄴ, ㅜ, ㅓ, ㄹ, ㅍ in order. The vowel keys ㅜ and ㅓ join as ㅝ, then the ending ㄹ and ㅍ form ㄿ. If composition stalls, check that Korean input is on and the keys are in that order.

The Unicode reference drawing is only an example: fonts may draw the strokes differently. A device without a Hangul-capable font may show a missing-character box instead; the text character itself does not change.

Neutral in Korean text; sent by itself, it can read like a character sample or a keyboard test.

Is 눮 an emoji? No; it is Hangul text, so an isolated send can be mistaken for a reaction.

Why does 눮 look different in different fonts?

It can: fonts choose their own stroke design for the Hangul glyph, while the character identity stays the same. Without a Hangul-capable font, some apps show a missing-glyph box.

Can I use 눮 without a Korean keyboard?

Yes. A Korean keyboard is needed only to compose the block from its jamo; other Unicode entry methods or pasting an existing instance depend on your device and app.
