What 뉱 means
It is one Korean syllable, not a translation by itself. Hangul combines jamo (component letters): ᄂ begins it, ᅱ is its vowel, and ᇀ ends it; “nwit” labels the sound pattern.
Hangul was introduced in 1446 through Hunminjeongeum, a guide to writing Korean speech. By the 16th century, people across social classes used Hangul in correspondence. During Korea's enlightenment period, it gained prestige, and names meaning “national writing” spread.
Fonts keep the same components but vary their placement and proportions inside the syllable block.
