What 퓾 means

No fixed meaning on its own; the Korean word supplies it.

퓾 is one Hangul syllable block, built from initial ㅍ, vowel ㅠ, and final ㅈ. The Unicode label “pyuj” describes those parts; it is not an English translation.

The first court announcement introducing Hangul dates to the twelfth lunar month of 1443. The 1446 Hunminjeongeum, a book explaining the script, documented its letters and how they combine into syllable blocks. Hangul was designed to represent Korean speech.

How are the parts of 퓾 related?

It joins an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant.

Hangul syllables are built from jamo, the individual Korean letters. Unicode represents 퓾 both as one assembled syllable block and as an equivalent sequence of its parts. Fonts may arrange those parts differently inside the square without changing the character.

Hangul’s designers drew on Chinese writing traditions for classifying initial consonants. A 2009 study compares the early Korean writing system with Phags-pa, a script dated to 1269, and notes parallels and differences. These are connections between writing systems, not evidence that this syllable was borrowed.

How do I type 퓾?

With Korean two-set input on, press V, B, then W.

On the Dubeolsik Korean keyboard, V, B, and W produce ㅍ, ㅠ, and ㅈ; the input method joins them into 퓾. Key positions vary on other layouts.

Ordinary Korean text or a Hangul lesson; alone, it reads as a fragment without the word around it.

Alone, it may look like a mistyped syllable rather than a complete message.

Can 퓾 be used as an emoji?

No. It is a Hangul text character used in Korean words or examples about the script, not a pictorial emoji.

Why does 퓾 change shape in different fonts?

Yes, its drawing can change. Hangul fonts may shift or resize the parts inside the square syllable cell; the character stays the same.
