What 랝 means
It combines three Hangul jamo in one block.
Jamo are Hangul letters assembled into syllables: 랝 combines ㄹ (initial consonant), ㅐ (vowel), and ㄵ (final cluster). Unicode derives the label from these parts. The same syllable can be stored as separate jamo; normalization treats both forms as equivalent.
Hangul was created under King Sejong in 1443; a 1446 book explained its purpose and principles. It let people write Korean without older methods of adapting Chinese characters, such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal. The script later served religious, scholarly, practical, and everyday writing.

Questions people ask
1Why does 랝 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
