What 로 means

The particle can show a destination, method, material, or tool.

Use 로 after a vowel or ㄹ; after other final consonants, use 으로.

How is 로 built?

It is one Hangul syllable block.

The separate letters ᄅ + ᅩ make the same syllable; fonts can position them differently.

Why was Hangul created?

Hangul is the Korean writing system, designed because Chinese characters did not match Korean speech well and to widen access to writing. Its creation and early publication span 1443–1447. Yongbieocheonga, an early Korean literary work, used it. In Middle Korean, -로셔 led to -로서; older cause and contrast uses of 로 fed later connective meanings.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 로 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
