What 롭 means
The Korean suffix -롭- (dictionary form -롭다) attaches to some vowel-final bases: 새롭다 (“new”), 자유롭다 (“free”), 평화롭다 (“peaceful”), and 해롭다 (“harmful”). The related suffixes -스럽- and -답- also form adjectives, each with its own role.
Hangul groups letters into syllable blocks. 롭 can also be written as three conjoining jamo: initial ᄅ, vowel ᅩ, and final ᆸ. The suffix developed from Middle Korean forms -룹- and -ᄅᆞᆸ-. Hangul was devised for Korean writing in 1443 and promulgated in 1446.
