hangul syllable ryaelt

Hangul syllable Ryaelt

3038/11172

럝 is one Hangul syllable block, with no established standalone Korean word meaning as of 2026-09-13. A Korean input method assembles it from Hangul letters. Its technical label Ryaelt describes the sound sequence, not a separate Korean word.

What 럝 means

It represents one syllable sound in Korean writing. The Hangul block combines an opening consonant, a vowel, and an ending consonant group. Hangul letters, called jamo, make these parts: ᄅ is the opening consonant, ᅤ the vowel, and ᆴ the ending cluster. The technical label Ryaelt names that sound sequence.

Hangul was designed as a learnable way to write Korean. Surviving records place King Sejong’s project in December 1443; the 1446 book Hunminjeongeum explained the new letters and how to use them. Before Hangul, Korean was written with Chinese characters and adapted systems such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal.

Hangul spread through Buddhist and Confucian books, practical texts, letters, and labels, moving into everyday and institutional writing. It became Korea’s official national writing system in 1894. Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal are predecessors of Korean writing practice, not visual ancestors of 럝.

How do I type 럝?

Use a Korean input method that builds Hangul syllables.

A Korean IME (input method editor) combines the syllable’s initial, vowel, and final jamo as you enter them. Select Korean input and enter the parts in order; the IME joins them into one block. Exact keystrokes depend on the keyboard layout. Direct Unicode entry varies by operating system, so there is no universal shortcut.

Why does 럝 sometimes appear in pieces?

The same syllable can be stored as one block or as separate jamo.

Unicode defines 럝 as the decomposed sequence for 럝. Text normalization can store either that sequence or the precomposed block; depending on the font and text shaping, the jamo may appear separately or together as one syllable.
