What 쒓 means
As of September 2026, it has no established standalone Korean word meaning.
Its Unicode decomposition is ᄊ ᅯ ᆺ; a Korean 2-Set typing sequence shows these components as ㅆ ㅝ ㅅ. These three letter components, called jamo, form one Hangul syllable block.
When 쒓 appears in Korean text, the surrounding letters show which larger word it belongs to.
How did this character come about?
It is a regular combination in the Hangul syllable system.
A 1443 entry in the Sejong Sillok, the annals of King Sejong’s reign, first records Hunminjeongeum, the new Korean writing system. A 1446 book of the same title explains why it was created and how it represents Korean sounds.
In the 15th century, formal writing in Korea relied heavily on Chinese characters, which did not map neatly onto spoken Korean. Hangul was designed around Korean sounds and to make writing more accessible; 쒓 is one regular combination in that system.
How do I type 쒓?
A Korean 2-Set keyboard can assemble it from four keystrokes.
In Korean input mode, press ShiftT for ㅆ, then N and J for ㅝ, then T for final ㅅ. The Korean input method joins the parts into 쒓; if they appear separately, check that Korean input is active.
