What 섕 means
In a Korean IME, enter ㅅ, then ㅒ, then ㅇ.
An input method editor groups those jamo, or Korean letter components, into one syllable block. The physical keys vary by keyboard layout. As you type a word, the input method can assign a consonant to the beginning of one block or the end of another, so follow the component sequence rather than a fixed key number.
What does 섕 mean?
It records one Korean syllable; the surrounding word supplies its meaning. Hangul combines letter components into syllable blocks. In 섕, ㅅ is the opening consonant, ㅒ is the vowel, and ㅇ is the final consonant.
Hangul was designed to represent Korean speech, give more people a practical way to write, and ease written exchange with neighboring language communities. Its design is documented in 1443, and the explanatory book Hunminjeongeum appeared in 1446. Over time, the script was also called Jeongeum, Eonmun, and Gukmun before Hangeul became its familiar name.
Neutral written Korean; on its own, it gives little context for interpreting the intended word.
