What 턽 means
Treat it as written Korean, not a pictorial reaction.
As of September 2026, it has no established standalone message use.
King Sejong’s Hangul let people write Korean directly in syllable blocks; older Idu adapted Chinese characters for Korean but was cumbersome. Creation is recorded in 1443; its explanation, the book Hunminjeongeum, appeared in 1446. A Mongolian Phags-pa influence is proposed, not proven. South Korea calls the script Hangul, North Korea Choseongul. The same syllable can be encoded as separate conjoining Hangul letters (jamo), then shaped into a block by a supporting font.
