What 틌 means
It is a Hangul syllable built from three letters.
ㅌ starts it, ㅡ is its vowel, and ㅆ closes it.
King Sejong created Hangul in 1443 to write Korean, a language distinct from Chinese; before Hangul, Korean was written with Chinese characters. The 1446 book Hunminjeongeum explained the script's purpose and design.
Why can 틌 look the same when stored differently?
Korean input can join the letters; Unicode can store them separately.
With Korean input enabled, enter ㅌ, then ㅡ, then ㅆ; the input method composes 틌.
NFC stores 틌 as one block; NFD stores its three Hangul letters, called jamo, separately. A font may show both alike even though their underlying text differs.
