What 퉈 means
It is a syllable, not a standalone word. Read 퉈 as “tweo”: ㅌ plus ㅝ, with no final consonant. It is one precomposed block; equivalent jamo may look the same but store separately.
Hangul first appears in surviving records in 1443. The 1446 Hunminjeongeum explained its letters and block combinations. It was invented to fit Korean speech and ease reading better than Chinese-character workarounds.
Its direct relatives are jamo ᄐ plus ᅯ. Hanja is the older neighboring tradition, not its parent. Hangeul later spread through books, became official in 1894, and lost that status under Japanese rule in 1910.
