What 톓 means
Its meaning comes from the Korean word around it.
King Sejong created Hangul in 1443 as an alphabet people could learn and use more easily. The script was first called Hunminjeongeum (훈민정음), “right sounds to teach the people”; the 1446 guide with that name explained how its letters work.
Hangul appeared in letters and literature while elite and official writing favored Classical Chinese. In 1894, a government order put Korean first in official texts but still allowed Chinese translation or mixed writing.
How is 톓 built?
The parts are opening ㅌ, vowel ㅖ, and ending cluster ㅀ.
Hangul groups an opening consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant into one syllable block. Here, ㅀ is a cluster: two consonants written together at the end.
