What 𐴁 means
It marks the b consonant in Rohingya spelling. The Hanifi Rohingya ba is used inside words; alone, 𐴁 is just a letter sample.
Hanifi Rohingya was developed in the 1980s by Maulana Mohammed Hanif and others. The Rohingya language is also written in Arabic, Myanmar, and Latin scripts.
Hanifi follows Arabic script’s right-to-left direction and joining style. Some letter shapes also reflect Latin and Myanmar scripts, but Hanifi is a constructed script, not a descendant of them.
Why does 𐴁 join or appear as a box?
Joined shapes are normal; a box means the font cannot show 𐴁. A device without a Hanifi-capable font may show an empty box; the character itself has not changed.
𐴁 can join letters on either side, and Hanifi vowel marks follow consonants. In a recorded Hanifi spelling transcribed in Latin letters as adob, the final 𐴁 carries b; replacing it with 𐴂 produces adop.
Inside a Rohingya word, it is ordinary spelling; alone, it reads as a letter sample rather than a social message.
