What 🤅 means
A Typicon (also spelled Typikon) is a church-service rulebook. Dolnitsky’s 1899 Ukrainian Greek Catholic Typicon (for Catholics in the Byzantine rite) uses Church Slavonic, a historic church language; 🤅 marks a simple service with scripture lessons at the Liturgy.
The wider service-rank system is attributed to Byzantine liturgist Nikon of the Black Mountain in the 11th century. Russian Orthodox books use related but distinct marks; this two-dot form belongs to Dolnitsky’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic set.
