What 🔾 means
It is decoration, not a standard reaction. As of 2026, a standalone 🔾 has no reliable conversational reading. It is drawn by a font, so its outline can vary: Unicode’s 2012 notes allow the source font’s shape, the Unicode reference shape, or an intermediate version.
The Wingdings designs date to 1990–1991, and Microsoft released the font in 1992 for computer-interface icons, bullets, and ornaments. A 2011 Unicode proposal called this mark “circle shadow down.” The encoding work aimed to make font symbols usable across systems and searchable; it did not give 🔾 a new message meaning.
Decorative and context-dependent; it suits a design better than a standalone reply.
Alone, it can look accidental.
