What 𐂤 means
It stands for cheese in Linear B. This monogram combines smaller syllabic signs for the Mycenaean Greek word for cheese, transcribed as turyos. Linear B was used for palace records in Mycenaean Greece.
On tablet Un 718 from Pylos, 𐂤 appears beside tu-ro2, a scholarly transcription of the same word written syllable by syllable, in a record listing quantities, livestock, and other goods. Linear B was adapted from the earlier Linear A script. The oldest surviving group of Linear B tablets at Knossos dates to around the 14th century BCE, perhaps as early as the late 15th.
Scholarly and archival; outside a Linear B record, its cheese reading is hard to recognize.
