What 𝟔 means
It still denotes six; bold is the mathematical style. In a formula, that style can distinguish a mathematical symbol, but this digit has no universal extra meaning by itself.
Bold math styles existed in typeset equations before this digit had its own character. In a 1999 proposal sponsored by STIX, a collaboration of scientific and technical publishers, experts asked Unicode to encode complete math alphabets—including digits—so plain-text formulas could retain style distinctions. The set entered Unicode in 2001.
