What 𝟧 means
It is the digit five in a mathematical sans-serif style. The value stays five; its distinct character form records a style used in mathematical and technical notation, where style can mark a distinction. The STIX project, a scientific-publishing collaboration, submitted mathematical characters to Unicode in 1998; Unicode accepted the mathematical alphabet proposal in 1999.
What does NFKC do to 𝟧?
NFKC can turn it into ordinary 5. Some software applies NFKC, Unicode’s compatibility normalization, to make text easier to match. That maps 𝟧 to plain 5 and removes its mathematical style, so preserve the original when that distinction matters.

1Why does 𝟧 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
