What ꞊ means
It marks future tense. In a Budu verb, it joins the subject prefix (who acts) to the stem (the action).
In a꞊pipo, a means “he,” pipo means “finish,” and ꞊ makes it future. The present is unmarked.
A 2006 Unicode proposal describes it as a spelling innovation that followed the typewriter era and shows it in a Budu text file saved in an older computer format. Its short form belongs inside a word; mathematical = expresses equality.
In Budu, this is a word-level tense mark, not an arithmetic symbol.
For equality, use ; ꞊ marks future inside a Budu verb.

1Why does ꞊ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
