What 𛊹 means
It writes the Jiangyong syllable ti42.
Nüshu is a women's script for Jiangyong's local Chinese dialect in Hunan. Its characters borrow shapes from Chinese writing but usually spell spoken syllables, rather than whole words.
Why did women write Nüshu?
It let women exchange poetry, letters, and messages.
Women used Nüshu for poems, songs, letters between sworn sisters (women who pledged sisterhood), and cloth-bound “third-day books” given to brides three days after marriage.
The oldest known artifact is a coin from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a 19th-century rebel state (1851–1864), inscribed “Women everywhere, sisters as one family.” After Nüshu drew wider scholarly attention in 1982, preservation and teaching followed.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛊹 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Nushu block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
