What ⌆ means
The name comes from a mathematical entity list.
The Unicode 1.0 name index lists Barwed alongside PERSPECTIVE. MathML 2, a web format for mathematical notation, lists it as ⌆ and describes a double-bar logical-AND wedge. In 2004, a standards comment questioned whether that older entity was mapped to the right Unicode sign. These labels trace a naming history; they do not settle a particular formula’s or drawing’s meaning.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
