What 🃟 means
It represents a Joker or wild card.
American Euchre, a card game, added the Joker around 1857 as its “best bower,” the highest trump (a card that outranks others). Rules document it by 1868. Later games also use Jokers as substitutes for other cards.
Is the Joker tarot’s Fool?
No. They share a rule-bending role, not the same history.
Tarot’s Fool comes from a fifteenth-century Italian tradition. It let players avoid matching the lead card’s suit or playing a higher-ranking trump. Both cards bend game rules but come from different histories.
