What 𑪆 means
It marks ra at the head of a consonant cluster. Text order keeps ra first, while this special form attaches to the following consonant. In Tibetan, the pattern is called ra-mgo, literally ra at the head; rka is one documented example.
Zanabazar developed Soyombo in 1686 to write Mongolian, Tibetan, and Sanskrit. The script was influenced by Tibetan and Devanagari and appears mainly in Buddhist texts, preserved as handwritten manuscripts or inscriptions on objects. This character contributes ra to a spelling; it is not a word sign on its own.
A specialist spelling form for consonant clusters.
As of 2026, Mongolia’s official Soyombo symbol is the head mark 𑪞, not 𑪆.

1Questions people ask
1Why can this Soyombo cluster render incorrectly?
It can. As of 2025, Soyombo needs complex positioning and required ligatures (joined letter forms); a font or app without that shaping support may misplace the cluster.
