What 𑩱 means
It represents p in Mongolian and aspirated p in Tibetan or Sanskrit. Why does its name say pha? It follows the Tibetan reading; Mongolian uses the unaspirated sound, made without the extra puff of breath. Soyombo consonants carry an inherent a vowel unless a vowel sign or a subjoined consonant changes the syllable.
Zanabazar designed Soyombo in 1686 for Mongolian and Buddhist texts in Tibetan and Sanskrit. Most surviving Soyombo texts are manuscripts; the script also appears in inscriptions, seals, and decorative religious writing. Tibetan and Devanagari (a script used for Sanskrit) influenced it, and Zanabazar also developed the sibling script Zanabazar Square. Soyombo use later narrowed mainly to ceremonial writing. Its opening sign became Mongolia’s national emblem in the early 20th century.
Specialist and neutral in script text; opaque as a standalone character.
This is the letter, not the separate sign used as Mongolia’s Soyombo emblem.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑩱 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Soyombo block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
