What 🈕 means
The programme carries multiplexed sound, often a switchable second track.
Japan began practical test broadcasts of TV with two sound channels in 1978. Programme guides mark such shows with 多, from 音声多重 (onsei tajū, “sound multiplex”). Typical cases are foreign films and series with Japanese dubbing plus the original voices; other programmes use the extra sound for stereo or a different audio feed. Viewers pick the track with the TV's audio-selection control.
🈕 belongs to a family of boxed labels used in Japanese digital TV guides, alongside (二), (字, captions) and (解). Before they were encoded, these signs lived in private font slots that could clash with other custom characters; a 2008 proposal brought them into Unicode so they can travel as ordinary text.

2Someone sent me 🈕 — what do they mean?
It has no established chat meaning. Only the sender knows why they chose it, so ask them.
Why do I see an empty box?
Your device's fonts or software don't support it. It is not an emoji, so it relies on a font that includes this character.
