What 🆨 means
It marks high-resolution TV programs in an electronic program guide. That guide is the on-screen listing of programs and their features. A Japanese proposal in 2015 put 🆨 forward among new symbols planned for ARIB's next-generation TV standard; ARIB is a Japanese broadcasting-industry association. Earlier Japanese TV-guide symbols under ARIB STD-B24 were added to an international character standard in 2009, partly to prevent confusion with user-created private characters.
Use it as a high-resolution TV mark, not as a general rating that a picture looks crisp or as praise from a sender. By itself, it says nothing about the sender's mood.
A technical broadcast-format label, suited to program guides and TV metadata.
It labels high-resolution TV content, not a general compliment for a sharp-looking picture.
