Tangut Component-088

𘡗 is a Tangut component, one structural part of a Tangut character, not a word with its own translation. The Tangut (Xixia) script was made for the Tangut language and survived Western Xia’s fall in 1227. The number in its name is a modern catalog label, not a reading.

What 𘡗 means

No. It is part of a character, not a word. Modern dictionaries of the Tangut (Xixia) script use components to organize complete characters. In an ideographic description sequence—a notation showing how character parts fit together—𘡗 marks one piece.

Work on the Tangut script began under Li Deming (1004–1032); its design apparently drew on Chinese and Khitan writing. His son Li Yuanhao standardized it during his reign (1032–1048). A Tangut Buddhist scripture collection was printed in 1307.

A scholarly reference label, not ordinary Tangut writing.

The number at the end is an index label, not a reading.
